I have studied classical dressage for over 25 yrs and was a hunter/jumper rider for 20 years prior. Personally, I have international dressage competition as my life goal and I move steadily towards the realization of this with my 12yr old Dutch Gelding "Balanchine" who I started green broke at age 5 and am now showing him at Grand Prix..
The cornerstone of my program is not just practice --- but practice correctly. That is why I have been and continue to be a perpetual student of the discipline. Through the years and with the help of many great teachers, I have assembled a foundation of correct riding and am extremely enthusiastic to pass this system along to my students. I love to learn but I also LOVE to teach. It is incredibly rewarding for me to see my students grow together with their horses. I encourage my students to study specific riding techniques, practice what they have learned on their own between lessons and continue to test their knowledge and skills through showing.
I have dedicated my life to the pursuit of excellence with my horses and have an undying passion for the sport that I want to share with you.

“Professional, kind, and approachable. Thank you Tom for what you bring to our dressage community!” –Jessica Mohr
"What a gift Tom Murray is to the horse community. Tom is such a well rounded horseman, with early exposure and education in the upper levels of the hunter/jumper world and breeding programs both in the USA, and Europe. This diverse background has made Tom one of the most exceptional trainers. Tom can help riders transition from the jumper world seamlessly or help an event rider improve their dressage test scores, while improving their jumping skills. I have watched him turn both young horses and riders into educated and confident beings, who not only learn the techniques to dance, they develop a love and passion for what they do....now that is a gift! - Gail Stuart Bowles, Trainer “I am so grateful for your wisdom, guidance, patience, and support! You always go above and beyond!!! –Amber Allyn Through training with Tom for 3 years, I learned that his philosophy of not cutting corners applies both in the dressage arena and to general horse training and care outside of it. I had the privilege of seeing numerous horses visibly change and improve as a result of his methods. I grew immensely in my knowledge, understanding, and confidence as a rider and horsewoman during my time at Tom Murray Dressage. – Elizabeth Kness
